Since the thematic calligraphy and painting creation event was launched in April, it has received active responses from the calligraphers and painters at the Xiangmei Art Gallery of Jing'an District Committee of CPPCC and the Shanghai Danding Art Gallery. With their paints and ink, 30 calligraphers and painters expressed their enthusiasm through 40 works. Wielding brushes, these artists either painted the Chinese people's resistance against Japanese aggression to recall that glorious period and praise the great fighting spirit, or painted portraits of Madame Anna Chennault to capture her demeanor and charm with vivid lines and pay tribute to her 100th birthday. The free creators wrote poems on the war of resistance and drew beautiful landscapes, creating splendid scrolls that combine nature and humanity.

These brilliant works display diverse styles. Some are magnificent and heart stirring, bringing people back to the flames of war; some are delicate and emotional, carrying the yearning for peace and respect for heroes. They are not only fruits of art but also witnesses of history, bearing the artists' profound understanding of that history and their determination to carry forward the Chinese spirit. This calligraphy and painting exhibition provided the public with an opportunity to experience the charm of art up close and relive the history of the resistance against Japanese aggression, allowing more people to draw strength from these works, remember history, and continue to go forward.
